Meet Alastair MacLeod
Hello, I'm Alastair MacLeod, and I'm the person behind Edinburgh Portfolio Guidance. I started this business because I noticed a clear gap in the market right here in Scotland. Lots of folks felt left out or confused by investment advice. I wanted to offer a straightforward, no-nonsense approach to managing your own money.
For over two decades, I've been involved in personal finance. I've seen what works and, more importantly, what doesn't for everyday people. My background isn't in big corporate banking; it's in understanding practical, long-term strategies that help individuals build their own financial security without all the fuss.
My mission is pretty simple: to make investing understandable and accessible. We don't sell investment products here. Instead, we teach you how to set up and manage your own portfolios, whether that includes stocks, bonds, or exchange-traded funds (ETFs). It's about giving you the tools and the confidence to take control.
Living and working in Edinburgh, I get to meet a lot of different people. My clients come from all walks of life – teachers, small business owners, people planning for retirement, or young families saving for a house. They all want the same thing: clear, honest advice that makes sense for their situation.
